Privacy Policy

This Privacy Policy describes how Family Dentist of Palm Beach ("we," "us," or "our") collects, uses, and shares personal information in connection with our website, related email, phone, and other electronic communications, social media pages, and marketing activities (collectively, the "Site"), and the rights and choices available to you regarding your personal information.

This Privacy Policy does not apply to protected health information (PHI) you provide to us in connection with dental or healthcare services. For our privacy practices relating to PHI, please review our Notice of Privacy Practices. If there is any inconsistency between that notice and this Privacy Policy, the Notice of Privacy Practices controls.

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. If we make revisions that change how we collect, use, or share personal information, we will post those changes here and update the "Last updated" date above. Your continued use of the Site after we post changes means you accept them.

1. Collection of Personal Information

1.1 Categories of personal information we collect

The table below describes the categories of personal information we may collect about you. We may also collect other personal information not listed here, which we will use as described in this Privacy Policy or as otherwise disclosed at the time of collection.

  • Identifiers and contact information — such as your name, phone number, email address, and mailing address.
  • Commercial information — such as appointment and account history.
  • Internet or network activity — such as device data, browser type, and how you interact with our Site.
  • Audio, electronic, or similar information — such as call, text, and chat communications with our office.
  • Inferences — we may create limited profiles from the information we collect, such as likelihood to attend a scheduled appointment, to help us reduce no-shows.

1.2 Sources of personal information

We obtain personal information from a variety of sources, including:

  • Information you provide directly — for example, when you use our appointment scheduling tools, call our office, sign up for promotional communications, complete a survey, post a review, or otherwise contact us.
  • Automatically collected information — like many websites, we and our service providers use cookies and similar technologies (such as web beacons and, where applicable, session-replay tools) to understand how visitors use the Site, remember preferences, and measure the effectiveness of our marketing.
  • Third parties — we may receive information about you from service providers or business partners who help us operate the Site.
  • Referrals — if you refer a friend or family member to us, please only share their contact information if you have their permission to do so.

2. Use of Personal Information

We use personal information to:

  • Operate, maintain, and improve the Site and respond to your requests for information, consultations, or appointments;
  • Schedule and confirm appointments, including via text message (see the mobile text terms in our Terms of Use);
  • Verify your dental insurance eligibility and provide accurate cost estimates;
  • Send you marketing communications about our services, where you have not opted out;
  • Maintain the security and integrity of our Site and systems, and prevent fraud;
  • Comply with applicable law, respond to legal process, and enforce our Terms of Use.

3. Sharing of Personal Information

We do not sell your personal information. We may share personal information in the following circumstances:

  • Service providers — companies that perform services on our behalf, such as website hosting, appointment scheduling, SMS/text reminder delivery, payment processing, and web analytics.
  • Advertising partners — if we run online advertising, our advertising partners (for example, Google or Meta) may use cookies to measure ad performance. We do not share personal information with these partners for money.
  • Professional advisors — accountants, attorneys, and similar professionals who advise our practice.
  • As required by law — in response to subpoenas, court orders, or other legal process, or to protect the rights, safety, or property of our practice, our patients, or others.
  • Business transfers — if our practice is acquired, merged, or its assets are sold, personal information may be transferred as part of that transaction.

We will not share your personal information with any other third party without your consent, except as described above.

4. Security of Personal Information

No method of transmission over the internet or electronic storage is completely secure. We use reasonable administrative and technical safeguards to protect your personal information, but we cannot guarantee absolute security. If we are required by law to notify you of a breach affecting your personal information, we will do so as required.

5. Your Choices

5.1 Access or update your information

You may contact us using the information in Section 7 to review, update, or request deletion of the personal information we hold about you.

5.2 Promotional emails

You can stop receiving promotional emails by clicking "unsubscribe" in any email, or by contacting us. We may still send you service-related communications, such as appointment confirmations.

5.3 Text messages

To stop receiving appointment-reminder or promotional text messages, reply STOP to any text message you receive from us. See our Terms of Use for full mobile terms.

5.4 Cookies and analytics

Most browsers let you block or delete cookies through your browser settings. We may use Google Analytics to understand how visitors use our Site; you can learn more and opt out at tools.google.com/dlpage/gaoptout.

5.5 Sale or sharing of personal information

We do not sell personal information for money, and we do not knowingly share personal information for cross-context behavioral advertising in a way that would trigger an opt-out right under state privacy laws. If that changes, we will update this Privacy Policy and provide a way to opt out. In the meantime, you can always contact us using the information in Section 7 with any questions about how your information is used.

5.6 Do Not Track

Some browsers send "Do Not Track" signals. We do not currently respond to Do Not Track signals, as there is no common industry standard for how to interpret them.

6. Children's Privacy

Our Site is not directed to individuals under 18, and our Site itself is not intended to collect information from children. (This does not limit the dental care we provide to child patients, which is governed by our Notice of Privacy Practices and handled through a parent or guardian.) If you believe we have collected personal information through the Site from a child under 18, please contact us using the information below.
